Whether you’re a musician, a music lover, or a professional looking for a volunteering opportunity, there are many ways that you can get involved. We are keen to hear from anyone who enjoys what we do and wants to help sustain and grow the initiative!
Fantastic! We aim to offer a certain number of performance slots for student bands and musicians in the festival, and we sometimes offer guest slots in our own shows throughout the year. If you don’t have a band, come solo; if you’d like to join a band or start one, you could meet other people through the gigs.
Come anyway! We hold monthly jam sessions which are a great place to start if you’ve never tried it before. Rebetiko isn’t ‘taught’ – we learn from each other. All you need is a decent ear and some enthusiasm.
We’re looking into exploring hybridity in the near future, so by all means, get in touch!
Over the years we’ve received fantastic support from professionals who have volunteered their time and expertise to help run the events, which partly fund our community work. Our community includes people of all ages and backgrounds, who offer their skills in photography, graphic design, management, theatre, writing and many more areas! We also occasionally need support with Front of House and Box Office duties!
There’s no expectation that you’ll be able to attend every show! You can be involved as little or as much as you like and pick dates that work around your schedule.
