Greek Roots Series: Bouzouko-Kitharo

Bouzouko-kitharo (Bouzouki & Guitar): A band consisting of a bouzouki player and a guitarist where one or both of them sing. It is the most common band that you can come across in Greece and is able to cover the whole repertoire of the genre sufficiently.

Rebetiko’s heart is beating louder through this simple arrangement that dominated the genre from its very beginning and still vibrates the small venues in Athens and Thessaloniki even today.

Join us for an afternoon of rebetiko classics, unknows and a few surprises played with just a bouzouki and a guitar.
